Counseling Services

By beginning counseling with Ryan Marler, LCSW, you are consenting to participate in individual counseling services through secure telehealth.

Counseling may include discussion of personal history, current concerns, relationships, emotions, behaviors, coping patterns, goals, and strategies for growth and healing.

 

Telehealth Services

Ryan provides telehealth counseling only. Sessions are conducted online through a secure platform.

You must be physically located in Washington or Florida at the time of your session.

 

Benefits and Risks

Counseling can help you gain insight, develop coping skills, improve relationships, process difficult experiences, and make meaningful changes.

Counseling may also bring up uncomfortable emotions, memories, or topics. Progress can take time, and results are not guaranteed.

 

Confidentiality

What you share in counseling is confidential, with some legal and ethical exceptions. These may include risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect, court orders, or other situations required by law.

 

Client Participation

Counseling works best when you participate honestly, attend scheduled sessions, communicate concerns, and practice skills between sessions when appropriate.

You may ask questions about your care at any time.

 

Emergencies

Telehealth counseling is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

 

Fees, Insurance, and Scheduling

Scheduling, billing, insurance verification, and payment may be managed through Headway.

Please review Headway’s policies regarding fees, insurance, cancellations, and payment responsibilities.

 

Right to End Services

You have the right to stop counseling at any time. Ryan may also refer you to another provider if your needs fall outside the scope of his services or if another level of care would better support you.
